Seminar Date and Time: April 27, 2017, 12:00 p.m.
Seminar Location: KMB-319
Seminar Advisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Nil ACARALI
Seminar Presenter: Hakan SERBEST, M.S. in Chemistry
Seminar Abstract: In this study, an analytical method was developed to investigate the behavior of valsartan—an antihypertensive agent used in the treatment of hypertension—in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and to enable its quantitative determination. Optimal conditions were determined by varying pH, wavelength, flow rate, mobile phase, and buffer solutions to establish the method. This method has been used in other studies, such as investigating the degradation period of valsartan standards under different environmental conditions, its behavior in the gastric environment, the quantification of the active ingredient valsartan in commercially available drugs, and the recovery of valsartan from wastewater sludge.
