Internship

AT THE START OF THE INTERNSHIP:

  • The student is responsible for finding a company whose scope is compliant with the content of Internship-1 (Chemical Engineering Laboratory Internship) and Internship-2 (Chemical Engineering Plant/Industrial Internship).
  • Approval must be obtained from the members of the Industrial Relations and Internship Committee regarding whether the selected company is suitable for the respective internship.
  • Form No. FR-1877, YTU Internship Application Form, must be filled out by the intern student and approved by the company where the internship will be conducted (3 approved copies of the form are required).
  • At the earliest 1 month and at the latest 10 days prior to the internship start date, the forms numbered FR-1877 and FR-1936 approved by the company, along with the forms numbered FR-0286 and FR-1285 filled out by the student, must be submitted to the Department Student Affairs Office. These must be accompanied by a photocopy of the student ID, a photograph, and a calendar for the year the internship takes place (the internship days must be circled on the calendar).
  • Additionally, the SPAS Provision Document (SPAS Müstahaklık Formu) to be obtained via e-Government (e-devlet) must also be submitted to the Department Student Affairs Office.
  • The Internship Logbook must be prepared based on the type of internship conducted (laboratory/plant) by taking the evaluation criteria in forms FR-0750 and FR-1982 into consideration.

As of the end of the 2022 Spring semester, the Internship notebooks of the Department of Chemical Engineering will be prepared electronically in accordance with the "Internship Notebook Preparation Guide" and will be sent by e-mail to internshipkmbytu@hotmail.com, and will also be delivered as a printout to the Department's student affairs office.

AT THE END OF THE INTERNSHIP:

Students completing their internships must submit the following documents to the Department Student Affairs Office within 1 month at the latest from their internship end date:

  • Internship Logbook (both via email and as a hard copy): The email containing the internship logbook must be named in the format SurnameIDNumber.pdf (e.g., Mutlu1705B028.pdf).
  • FR-1800- Chemical Engineering Department Internship Logbook Approval Form: (If this form is approved, there is no need to additionally sign and stamp the internship logbook).
  • FR-0286 Social Security Institution (SGK) Internship Registration Form and FR-0751- Chemical Engineering Institution's Intern Evaluation Survey Form (Laboratory Internship) / FR-1537- Chemical Engineering Institution's Intern Evaluation Survey Form (Plant/Industrial Internship) (inside a sealed envelope).  
  • FR-0753- Chemical Engineering Intern's Institution Evaluation Survey Form
  • FR-1982- Chemical Engineering Laboratory Internship Evaluation Form / FR-0750- Chemical Engineering Plant/Industrial Internship Evaluation Form
  • Students conducting a Non-Compulsory Internship are only required to fill out the FR-1799- Chemical Engineering Department Non-Compulsory Internship Report instead of an internship logbook.
  • Must be submitted to the Department Student Affairs Office.

According to the information received from the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, form FR-1936 Unemployment Fund Contribution Information Form for Internship Fees has been added to the internship documentation.

NOTE: It is our students' responsibility to keep track of the up-to-date versions of the relevant forms. The current versions of all specified forms can be accessed by their form numbers on the YTU Quality Coordination Office webpage.

INTERNSHIP MOBILIZATION

Internship programs to be carried out in cooperation with public institutions and volunteer companies from the private sector, by taking advantage of the "Internship Mobilization" project initiated by the Presidential Human Resources Office and to be carried out in coordination with the Student Guidance and Career Center on behalf of our University. Application requirements:

- Having passed the final year in formal education undergraduate programs

- GPA must be at least 2 out of 4 and above
